WHO WE ARE
We are Olivia Teixeira and Fernando Lima—a couple who have lived, danced, and taught tango for over 30 years. More than just dancers or instructors, we are explorers of a question that drives us every day: how does music transform into movement, and how can one fully experience the joy of the embrace?
This quest gave rise to the EsTudo Tango method—a unique approach to musical interpretation for social dancers, developed through decades of research into body awareness and thousands of classes across more than 60 cities in Brazil, the United States, Argentina, and Europe.
OUR STORY
In 2019, we decided to join forces and build a partnership. We moved to Buenos Aires, and in March 2025, we received the "Nobleza del Arrabal" honor at the historic Salón Marabú—awarded by the Argentine Tango Society of New York—and we hold the titles of Don and Doña from the same institution.
To democratize access to authentic social tango—well-danced tango—by making musical interpretation understandable and applicable for dancers and teachers of all levels, anywhere in the world.
To establish EsTudo Tango as a global benchmark for musical interpretation in social tango, fostering a global community that dances with greater depth, connection, and respect for tradition.
HISTORIC ACHIEVEMENTS
A career spanning over three decades has resulted in achievements that transcend stages, screens, and borders. From television in Sergipe to the dance halls of Buenos Aires, Olivia Teixeira and Fernando Lima have built a legacy that unites art, research, and teaching—one that remains alive in every class, every performance, and every student who travels across the globe to study with them.
Every award, article, and testimonial tells a chapter of the same story: that of individuals who dedicated their lives to understanding the essence of tango—the relationship between music and movement—and to sharing that knowledge with the world. This foundation underpins the EsTudo Tango Method and everything we do to this day.

LITERARY OUTPUT
Decades of research have materialized into educational works that systematize the EsTudo Tango method of musical interpretation for social dancers—among them the book *Tango, Além dos Passos* (Tango: Beyond the Steps), adopted as a textbook at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC).
The book Tango, Beyond the Steps, by Olivia Teixeira and Fernando Lima, is the written embodiment of the interpretation pillar of the EsTudo Tango Method—a pedagogical work that systematizes musical interpretation for social dancers. What makes this work even more significant is the recognition it has garnered within academia: the method currently serves as a reference for scientific research at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), where Professor Davila de Souza Zampieri—a researcher in the Department of Organic and Inorganic Chemistry—adopts it as a primary reference in her studies on the human body's metabolic and physiological responses to tango. This interdisciplinary investigation bridges chemistry, health, art, movement, and human relations, exploring the effects of the embrace and the dance itself on well-being.
